Some Great Advice!

One of my favorite blogs is Intentionally Katie. I enjoy every post, she has great ideas and advice but it also so down to earth and real about life. I emailed her about our struggles at bedtime and guess what! She replied in a blog post (within days, I might add!) to share with everyone that might be losing sleep they way we have been. Go on over and read the post for yourself, great advice! THANKS KATIE!

Kay Arthur Study

In case you haven't heard I will be "leading" a Bible study in my online community on BlogFrog. We will be discussing Kay Arthur's "Lord, Give Me a Heart for You". We will begin discussion on September 20th. I will post discussion questions on Sunday and/or Monday each week for us to reply to. On the 20th, I will post introduction type questions so we can get acquainted with one another. Then on September 27 we will discuss Chapter 1. You can join in the discussion whenever you choose but try to stay on track with the chapters each week.

I am really hoping that we will have some great discussion. Please don't feel limited by the questions that I post. You can also add posts with any questions or concerns about the study and also any prayer requests that you may have. I will be treating this just like any small group that I am a part of, other than yummy breakfast treats and coffee! I appreciate your commitment and encouragement, as well.

You still have time to get a book, I suggest getting one used from amazon to save some money.

Clicking on the frog button will take you to my BlogFrog community. You will need to sign up for the site but it is free! There is also a BlogFrog button on the left hand side of my blog for you to click on, as well.

Can't wait to get started! See you there!

Long Weekend

We have received our first shipment of things at our new house. Including my huge PC! I missed it so very much! This week I've been unpacking, doing load after load of laundry and running the dishwasher twice a day. In the midst of unpacking I have been feeling pretty horrible, some kind of stomach thing. Nope, I haven't been drinking the water and I'm almost positive that I'm not pregnant.

We are slowly getting settled and I'm hoping to be back on track with blogging soon. Thanks for sticking with me and you're continued prayers as adjust to a new country! I'll post pictures soon, still waiting to upgrade our slow internet, uploading takes forever!

Enjoy your long weekend! Be safe!

We have arrived!

We are in Mexico City and in our new house! We have a huge apartment on a quiet street, close enough to walk to the grocery store. We have three bedrooms and 3.5 baths PLUS maid's quarters. Plenty of room for visitors (hint, hint). We were excited to learn that we have heat and a/c , as most places here do not. And we actually have used our heater a few times at night! YEP! I said heater! The weather is beautiful even though it rains every evening. There is a great play area for the kids, as well as pool, gym and bbq area. There is a guard at the entrance and we have an alarm system (that is for the concerned family members).

I really think Jason will enjoy his position here. It takes about 30 minutes for him to get to work as long as he leaves right when he gets off. If he gets out late, then it takes closer to an hour. He started his Spanish lessons yesterday, hopefully I'll find a way to go soon, too. Not many people here speak English. I wish we had had more time to prepare for moving here, oh well. Jason also started his second to last class to complete his Bachelor's degree. I am so proud of him! He should be finished in early October.

Our first shipment of our belongings should be here Monday or Tuesday (including my computer!) and I am very anxious to start living here! The boys are calling this "our new hotel", so it would be very nice to start making it a home. This shipment includes most of our kitchen items and linens. aaaahhhhh, flannel sheets I miss you.

Our internet is pretty slow with uploads, so we are going to upgrade it (which will take a while) and then I'll upload pictures to share.

Pray that we are able to attend church this weekend and that I am able to join in with the ladies' group when they start in a few weeks. Yahoo says the church is only 17 minutes from where we live, so hopefully it will be easy to taxi there!

Off to the playground... Better hurry! Looks like rain!

I Can See The Light!

We are so close I can smell the beans and rice! We will be there soon, finally! All I can say is I am so happy that God has been there with us every step of the way. Otherwise I would be a hot mess! He has kept a peace in my heart that I have needed more than anything. I am truly blessed.

I am excited to jump back on the blogging train! I really miss it, way more than I thought I would. I can't wait to share pictures with you. We've been visiting some sights around DC in our "free" time.

Please say some prayers for us as we get settled, that our things arrive as they were sent (not in a million pieces), and that we find a church family.

Still Sweating!

in Maryland! We are waiting for all our paperwork to go through (STILL!) so we can get on a plane to perfect weather! Pray for us to get there quickly and safely! Can't wait to see my huge computer screen again! Hubs' netbook hurts my eyeballs!

July 7, 2010

it is ridiculously

Hot in Maryland. One more week. Some of you may be surprised to learn that Mexico City is over 7000 feet above sea level, therefore it has perfect weather year round! From 100 with about that percentage of humidity to mid-seventies is going to be awesome!
I've got some great pictures from the 4th and walking around DC but you may have to wait for those. I'll share them soon!
